Windows 7 Tips

To determine if your operating system is 64-bit

1.  Go to Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System.

2.  In the System area, check to see that System type = 64-bit.

To adjust User Account Control settings

1.  Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings.

2.  Move the slider one up from the bottom: Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop).

To disable messages regarding this User Account Control setting

1.  Go to Start > Control Panel > System and Security.

2.  Click Turn off messages about User Account Control.

Restart your PC to activate these settings.

To restore sound files

Sometimes sound files do not install properly on 64-bit machines. In that case, you must manually create the folder that the system automatically searches for sound files.

1.  Go to C:\Program Files(x86)\CQG\CQGNet and create a new folder named “CQG”.

2.  In that folder (C:\Program Files(x86)\CQG), create a folder named “CQGNet”.

3.  Go to C:\Program Files\CQG\CQGNet and copy the Sounds folder.

4.  Go to C:\Program Files(x86)\CQG\CQGNet and paste the Sounds folder.
