Authorizing a Trader on Accounts (Trader Authorization)

The Trader Authorization page is used to manage the accounts a trader is associated with.

Accounts the trader is associated with are listed on the top of the page, Authorized Accounts.

The number of authorized accounts for the trader is displayed on this page. This number includes both explicitly authorized accounts, which are listed on this page, and implicitly authorized accounts, which are applicable to Order Handler traders.

Changes made on the Trader Authorization page can affect account and trader commodity-related enablements.

Note: Omnibus accounts are not shown in the account list.

CQG client software receives account and trader commodity-related enablements during the logon process. Because you may save changes after the update process has run for the given minute, changes may be applied during the following minute.

To change authorization

1.  Go to Traders > Trader Authorization.

2.  In the Authorized Accounts section, select or unselect the check boxes:

View Only = Trader can view account information but cannot trade on the account.

Force Care = Trader cannot place orders directly to the exchange; only care orders are allowed.

MiFID DEA = Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID)

MiFID CQG Algo is 'Client' Algo

Allow External Accounts = This enables the Broker External Orders feature. Brokers now have the ability to enter orders into any account, including accounts associated with the broker that are not set up on CQG.

      Primary Trader

Execution Source Code = A value is sent with each order to identify the flow type to properly identify the correct brokerage when executing and clearing exchange traded derivatives.

Remove Authority = Trader cannot view account information or trade on this account.

If this trader has mapped accounts, you are asked to confirm your authorization revocation, as mappings are deleted.

To authorize trader on additional accounts

1.  Go to Traders > Trader Authorization.

2.  In the Set Trading Authority section, search for the account you want to add.

3.  Click the Add button.

This page is from the trader perspective: all accounts associated with a trader. You can also manage authority by account: all traders associated with an account.
