Care orders are generally used for in-house matching of orders. These orders are parked on CQG’s gateway and not immediately sent to the exchange.
Traders can cancel these orders but not modify them.
Account Authorization and Trader Authorization pages include a Force Care check box.
If force care is turned on, all orders placed by the trader are placed as care orders.
Force care options are controlled by permission: Account Management > Trader > Modify > Modify/View Trader Force Care Option.
Behavior of Care and Parked Orders
Care orders are reviewed by the appropriate person (Review Trader) and either activated or filled.
While care orders are a type of parked order, the handling of these types of orders is different. That is, the Review Trader cannot fill parked orders as care orders, and parked orders cannot be placed as care orders.
If force care is turned on, and the Review Trader attempts to activate a parked order, that order is not activated but changed to a care order.
When force care is turned on, previously parked orders remain parked and are not marked as force care orders.
Existing care orders remain care orders when force care is turned off. These orders can be activated.
