File Transmission

By default, FCMs upload files to a CQG FTP site. FCMs are assigned the necessary credentials to access the FTP site, and CQG requires a list of FCM IP addresses, so that they can be opened on our firewall.

It’s also possible for CQG to download files from an FCM FTP site. CQG requires the server name, login name, password, and directory.

Files can also be sent using SFTP.

Transmission Time of Day

FCMs inform CQG of the approximate time files will be available each day. CQG attempts to retrieve those files soon after the stated time. If no files are detected, the system retries up to 4 or 5 times within the next 3 to 4 hours.

Files should be transmitted at approximately the same time every day. While it’s permissible to change that time, you should be aware that CQG actively staggers timing for load balancing.
