System and Data Tools

System

System tools are used to save, import, and export settings and to provide information about the state of your system. The information gathered from some of these tools helps our support team troubleshoot issues with you.

Some system tools are on the System button menu and also available through the Support button menu:

      System Status

      System Log

Some system tools have associated buttons on the application toolbar:

      Serial Numbers (SNR) : shows history of update enablement events

      System Status (Status)

In addition to using some of these tools while working with CQG support, other tools are used for:

      setting system preferences

      backing up your system

      importing and exporting system components

      managing components

Data

Most data tools are used by CQG to troubleshoot data issues.

Some data tools are on the System button menu and also available through the Support button menu:

      Data Host: indicates the data server the system is connected to

      New Data Browser (NDBrows): opens a window that has incorporated the data browser window menu in a drop-down menu, so that you do not have to open more than one window to look at more than one type of data

These data browser windows show the current state of the system, instruments that you are subscribed to, applications that you are enabled for, and some internal metrics/usage statistics that help to investigate issues.
